  We drove down to lake Geneva to check out the hiking and mountain biking trails they had to offer. It was a little confusing trying... read more to locate where to go. They have you sign up and pay for trail use at the zip line building. Then after you have a wristband you drive across the road to the main parking lot that leads to the trail. There was a large wooden carving of a blue jay that marked where the trail began. They have mountain bikers start opposite end so that hikers and bikers see each other. The day we went there were no other hikers or bikers.  The trails are easy to walk with some hilly sections and several zip line towers you come across deeper into the woods and along the valley. The mountain bike trail had a lot of wood barriers to ride over and several wooden rails to maneuver. Part of trail overlooks and goes directly next to a neighboring cemetery which was a little weird as we hiked. After the forest trail is a section that leads into a tall grass prairie. Signage was lacking at this park and we did get ourselves lost for a bit. It did lead us into a huge hill section for the bikes. In all I would recommend this park for mountain biking and for a shorter hike if your in the area. The ticks were horrendous when we went so I suggest a lot of tick spray before hitting the trails and some water. The visitor center didn't provide us with a map or any extra features to look for so we did so blindly. Worth it? Yes. You will get your $5 worth very quickly at this place:) I haven't tried the zip lines here, but we did see a lot of people signing up for it and heard them in the canopy while we hiked. read less

HOWEVER, I had an absolute blast! Our tour guides Cassie and Action Jackson were great -- they were quite fun and helpful and easy to talk with and we couldn't have asked for more. The high ropes course was the perfect mix of easy/medium/challenging physical fun. I recommend getting a little bit out of your comfort zone, accepting that everyone falls, and let yourself learn just what you really are capable of if you try and shake off some fears! read less
